i wrote this poem about grief was a poem that I wrote in honour of a close friend who passed away in a tragic car accident. All throughout 2022 and 2023, I had trouble coping with the reality that I would no longer be able to see or talk to my dear friend. It was a horrible feeling that my young, teenage self did not know how to handle.

To this day, I am still adjusting to this incident and adjusting to the new familiar. However, I wrote this poem to let my peers know that struggling with grief is nothing to be ashamed of. Grief is a tragic and overstimulating feeling that comes with the human experience. There is no shame in taking the time to be human and process emotions.
